Vineyards and winemaking:
Old Grenache Blanca vineyards cultivated and located in Batea, a municipality in Terra Alta, in the province of Tarragona. Batea has strong temperature variations with cold winters and hot, dry summers. The little rain and low production yield very special grapes with excellent ripening. The soils are generally calcareous, loamy-clayey with very low fertility. Once the grapes are harvested, they are destemmed and pressed. The must is filled into stainless steel tanks and left to rest for 24 hours. The next day, the clear must is separated and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation lasts between 18 and 20 days at a temperature of around 14-15°C. Once fermentation is complete, the lees are removed once a week to obtain softness and fat. The blend is exclusively from the Grenache Blanca variety.
Tasting notes
Yellow color with golden reflections. The varietal aroma is a mixture of fruity notes (yellow peach, ripe apple, apricot kernels) and tropical fruits (pineapple, lychee, papaya). We find sweet nuances: quince, honey. The palate is wide, structured, fresh, with nerve thanks to its citrus touches. At the end of the palate, the presence of ripe fruits and the long aftertaste stand out. Recommended consumption temperature 6-8°C. Volem una Garnatxa Blanca fresca, facil de beure en els mesos d’ estiu i amb molta personalitat.
